(Bismarck, ND) -- The state House and Senate are moving forward with tax relief proposals.

Governor Burgum's two-year income tax relief proposal would return up to 500-dollars per resident tax payer using the state's budget surplus. The House also advanced a bill that would eliminate the state income tax on Social Security benefits.

The second proposal would provide permanent tax relief.
