(Bismarck, ND) --  While the state legislature debates a proposal to bar vaccine mandates in North Dakota, many people from across the state turned out for a rally opposing vaccine mandates Monday at the State Capitol.

Those who attended the rally said they weren't necessarily opposed to the vaccine but that they did not want to be ordered to get a shot.

Organizer Jay Lundeen, who is the District 40 Republican Chairman out of Minot, told The Flag's What's on Your Mind Program that throughout the entirety of the day, around 2500 people attended the rally.

State health officials urge everyone to be vaccinated and to talk with their doctors if they have any questions about it.
