Two dead after crash Northeast of Williston

(Williston, ND) -- A Williston woman and her juvenile passenger have died after a three car crash Saturday evening.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that a Dodge ram driven by a 52-year-old Williston man was traveling the wrong way on Highway 2, traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided with a  Toyota traveling westbound head on near mile marker 41.

The driver of the Toyota, a 44-year-old Williston woman and a juvenile passenger died from injuries sustained in the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene. A 3rd passenger of the Toyota was injured and transferred by ambulance to CHI Hospital in Williston with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of another car hit by debris after the crash was not injured.

The driver of the Dodge also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported by ambulance to CHI Hospital in Williston. He was charged with DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Highway 2 was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours for the on scene investigation and to clear the vehicles involved. The crash does remains under investigation by the NDHP.
