(Bismarck, ND) -- Deer gun season is approaching in North Dakota.

The season opens Friday morning where hunters will be trying to take down a deer as early as they can. Some areas are experiencing a disease breakout among whitetails, but other areas have increasing populations. Mule deer populations have also gone up over the past few years.

Hunters are encouraged to check the North Dakota Game and Fish website to review new regulations related to new restrictions.
