(Minneapolis, MN) -- Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter will stand trial on first and second-degree manslaughter charges in the death of Daunte Wright.

On Wednesday, Judge Regina Chu made the decision to deny the defense's request to dismiss the more serious charge that was added last month. Potter is accused of killing Wright during a traffic stop in April while attempting to arrest him.

Her trial is set to begin on November 30th.
