Company Responsible For Large ND Spill Pleads Guilty

(Bismarck, ND) -- The company responsible for North Dakota's largest oil field spill is pleading guilty to two criminal charges.

Summit Midstream Partners entered pleas in federal court Wednesday as part of an agreement. The agreement also includes 15-million dollars in fines to be paid to the federal government.

A pipeline owned by the company leaked 700-thousand barrels of produced water which flowed into Blacktail Creek and eventually the Missouri River.
