ND Lawmakers Endorse Move to Raise Emergency Commission Spending Limits

(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota lawmakers are endorsing a move to increase the spending limit for the Emergency Commission.

The Legislature's Government Finance Committee moved a bill draft forward that would adjust how much the Emergency Commission can approve in federal and special funding for state agencies.

The commission is led by the governor and is also made up of the Secretary of State, House and Senate majority leaders, and top budget writers.

The commission approves state agency requests for funding between legislative sessions.
