State Officials Fear High Oil Prices May Curtail Road Construction Next Year

(Bismarck, ND)  --  While strong demand is filling state coffers, higher-than-normal oil prices could transportation officials to cancel or delay some road-construction projects.  So far this year, state DOT officials signed off on almost 175 road and infrastructure-related contracts totaling 350 million dollars.  All those bids reportedly were approved before the recent spike in oil prices.  Industry officials say those higher costs may curtail state spending on transportation projects next year.
