North Dakota Jail Feels Strain Of Nurse Shortage

(Bismarck, ND) -- A North Dakota jail is feeling the strain of a nursing shortage.

The federal government says North  Dakota is in the top ten for states with the shortage in nurses. Only one nurse now works at the Burleigh Morton County Detention Center, down from the usual three.

Until more people can get on board, the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department will train others to give medication.

More information on open jobs is available from the department.
