Minnesota Senate Ends Special Session, No Action On Commissioners

(St. Paul, MN)  --  In a 46-18 vote, the Minnesota Senate has adjourned its special session.  The vote came late Wednesday without any votes being taken on Governor Walz's appointed commissioners.  Originally, the GOP-controlled chamber planned to approve or dismiss the commissioners of Housing and the Department of Natural Resources.  In a closing speech, Majority Leader Paul Gazelka said the two do not have to worry about their job status.  This comes after Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Commissioner Laura Bishop resigned in anticipation of being ousted.
