(Bismarck, ND) -- Fires are burning across North Dakota this year at a rate faster than the last.
The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services along with the Forest Service says about 14-hundred fires have burned so far in 2021, destroying over 100-thousand acres statewide.
That's a large increase from last year, when 921-fires burned about 12-thousand acres.
This year has been one of the driest in the past 127-years of record keeping.
