Results from ND DUI Memorial Day Checkpoints and Patrols

(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota Highway Patrol says they conducted two sobriety checkpoints on Friday, May 28. One checkpoint was held in Burleigh County on Highway 1804 south of Bismarck. The other checkpoint was held in Grand Forks County along Hwy 81 near I-29. In addition to the checkpoints, saturation patrols were conducted in those areas. 

Burleigh County sobriety checkpoint:
• 95 vehicles came through the checkpoint
• 5 drivers evaluated for impairment
• No arrests were made during the checkpoint

Bismarck area saturation patrols:
• 3 drivers arrested for driving under the influence

Grand Forks County sobriety checkpoint:
• 117 vehicles came through the checkpoint
• 7 drivers evaluated for impairment
• 1 driver arrested for driving under the influence
• 1 driver cited for open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle

Grand Forks area saturation patrols
• 2 drivers arrested for driving under the influence
• 2 drivers cited for open containers of alcohol in a motor vehicle
• 3 arrests related to illegal drugs
• 3 drivers cited for driving under suspension
