Grand Forks Community Honoring Anniversary Of Officer Holte's Death

(Grand Forks, ND)  --  The Grand Forks community is set to honor the anniversary of Officer Cody Holte's death.  Holte died a year ago today while helping deputies serve an eviction notice in the 26-hundred-block of South 17th Street.  Salamah Pendleton is facing eight charges, including two counts of murder for the deaths of Officer Holte and for his mother.  Pendelton's trial is set to start June 29th.

Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski has signed a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half-staff on City property on Thursday, May 27, 2021 to remember the one-year anniversary of Officer Holte's end of watch. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Holte family.” Mayor Bochenski said. As part of the proclamation, Mayor Bochenski also encourages residents and businesses in Grand Forks to lower their flags to half-staff on May 27th as well. Officer Holte was killed in the line of duty responding to a call on May 27, 2020.
