Coronavirus Tracker: 1,453 New Cases, 12 Deaths in MN

(St. Paul, MN) -- Steady COVID-19 case numbers in deaths in Minnesota, on the day where Governor Tim Walz's three phased plan to lift state-mandated restrictions begin.

The state department of health reported an additional 1,453 cases of the virus Friday, including seven in Clay County.

12 new deaths were also reported.

As of Friday, at least 2,628,225 Minnestans have receieved at least one dose of a Coronavirus Vaccine, while 2,069,770 residents have completed the vaccination process.

Friday at noon, most outdoor restrictions for COVID-19, including closing times for bars and restaurants, are going away. Governor Walz hopes to lift the state-wide mask mandate by July 1st at the latest.
