SD Argues Against Legalizing Marijuana

(Pierre, SD)  --  The South Dakota Supreme Court is hearing a challenge to legalizing marijuana after voters approved it last fall.  Roughly 54-percent of South Dakotans voted in favor of legalizing personal possession of cannabis for recreational use.  Yesterday, attorneys for the state delivered their closing arguments against the legality of the measure.  The defendants, South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws, was the organization that arranged putting the referendum on the ballot, along with Secretary of State Steve Barnett.
