(Rapid City, SD) -- South Dakota is gaining attention after the success of movie Nomadland. The South Dakota-filmed movie won Best Picture at the 93rd annual Oscars. Star Frances McDormand won Best Actress and the director Chloe Zhao won Best Director at Sunday's ceremony. The film included many places in the state such as Reptile Gardens. Executive Director of Visit Rapid City hopes the high-profile wins will encourage more filmmakers to shoot their stories in the state.
