Transgender Sports Ban Bills Heads To Governor's Desk

(Bismarck, ND)  --  North Dakota's Transgender Sports ban bill is headed to Governor Doug Burgum's desk.  The state Senate passed the bill yesterday that would ban students from playing on sports teams that don't match the sex of their original birth certificate.  Opponents of the bill say it is discriminatory and will harm transgender students.  Those against the bill also point to an NCAA statement earlier this week that said larger national tournaments would not be played in states that have similar laws on the books.
