Burgum Declares Statewide Drought Disaster

(Bismarck, ND)  --  Governor Doug Burgum is declaring a statewide drought disaster.  The drought now encompasses nearly three-fourths of the state, up from about half just a week ago.  Two large wildfires are raging in the western Badlands in an area about the size of Fargo.  The U.S. Drought Monitor map released yesterday shows extreme drought is in all of the western part of the state along with much of the northeast and southeast portion of the state.
