SD Gov Declares State of Emergency Due to Fires

(Pierre, SD)  --  Governor Kristi Noem is declaring a state of emergency in response to South Dakota wildfires and drought.  Noem signed the executive order yesterday that would give the state greater resources to help local and volunteer firefighters in responding to wildfires and extreme drought.  The Schroeder Fire outside Rapid City has led to the evacuation of hundreds of households and covers thousands of acres.
