ND State Capital Briefly Evacuated for Smoke Alarm

(Bismarck, ND) -- A popcorn machine triggered smoke alarms twice at the state Capitol yesterday and led to brief evacuations of the building.  The first alarm was triggered just before noon and the second about 4-15.  In both instances, the evacuations lasted about ten minutes.  Employees say they're glad to learn the fire alarms work, but they're disappointed the building's ventilation would allow a popcorn machine to set off the alarms.
