Governor Walz Announces New COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for Minnesotans

(St. Paul, MN) -- Some restrictions loosening up as it pertains to COVID-19 in Minnesota.

Governor Tim Walz Friday announcing several new guidelines on capacity levels in businesses across the state. Some of those included:

  • Wedding and Religious gatherings - No capacity limit, social distancing required.
  • 50 people allowed at regular outdoor gatherings, 15 at indoor gatherings.
  • Restaurants and Bars - 75% capacity with 250 people max allowed inside.
  • All entertainment venues - 50% capacity allowed.
  • Gyms and Fitness Centers - 50% capacity.
  • Outdoor stadiums - 25% capacity, or limit of 10,000 fans (including Target Field).

Walz also added that the state will also continue to strongly recommend those who can work from home to do so for the time being.

Minnesota has also seen a big increase in vaccinations, with 40,000 shots a day going out. 72% of seniors in the state have reportedly gotten the vaccine.
