ND Senate Passes Faithless Electors Bill

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The North Dakota Senate is advancing a slightly altered version of the House's Faithless Electors bill.  Currently, North Dakota doesn't require its votes in the Electoral College be cast for the winner of the state's presidential election.  The new bill would require that all North Dakota votes go to the state's winner.  The U.S. Supreme Court allows states to punish electors who vote against their state's election results.  The new bill provides only for the replacement of the elector.
