Process Of Expulsion For Simons Gets Underway Today

(Bismarck, ND)  --  The process of expulsion for Representative Luke Simons is getting underway.  House members are preparing to debate the possibility of expelling Simons after allegations of sexual harassment came out last week.  Simons had been given one week to resign, but that week has ended.  The House is going over the rules for the trial.  A resolution is set to be introduced today calling for a censure and could progress as far as expulsion.

Meanwhile, two North Dakota representatives are speaking out about their experiences with Representative Luke Simons.  Representative Emily O'Brien said in a statement Saturday that she moved desks to avoid Simons' "harassing behavior."  Representative Brandy Pyle reported inappropriate comments Simons allegedly made about an intern.  Both say they plan to speak today when a resolution proposing Simons' censure and possible expulsion is being considered.
