Proposal Would Store Midwestern CO2 In North Dakota

(Bismarck, ND)  --  A North Dakota company is proposing to capture greenhouse gases and pipe them to North Dakota for underground storage.  Summit Carbon Solutions is leading the effort, which they expect to have operational by 2024.  Tharaldson Ethanol near Casselton is participating in the effort, along with others from South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.  A main pipeline, smaller pipelines to each participating plant, new injection wells, and carbon capture equipment at each facility would be needed to make the project successful.  The company announced the project yesterday.
