(Bismarck, ND) -- Representative Luke Simons is speaking out through his attorney as lawmakers begin the process of censuring him. Simons faces allegations of harassment from at least one fellow legislator and informally from Legislative Council staff members. He released a statement through his lawyer last night saying he has no intention of resigning. He is also calling for a public hearing to confront the allegations. His attorney also said Simons intends to retaliate against the allegations and any actions taken by the assembly. He is expected to be censured today which could lead to his expulsion from his seat.
