Ravnsborg Digging In As Impeachment Proceedings Begin

(Pierre, SD)  --  South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg is digging in as impeachment proceedings against him get underway.  Ravnsborg says he will not resign even though the South Dakota House filed two articles of impeachment with the Legislative Research Council against him yesterday following a closed-door caucus session.  The articles are expected to be formally introduced today.  Ravnsborg is facing misdemeanor charges in connection with a September 2020 crash where he struck and killed 55-year-old Joseph Boever with his vehicle in Hyde County.  The South Dakota constitution allows for the impeachment of state officials for offenses including misdemeanors.
