(Cairo)  --  Reports out of the Middle East say a deal might be in place for the Palestinian militant group Hamas to free the remaining hostages held captive since the October 7th attacks in Israel.

The Paris-based news agency AFP is citing a Hamas official who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The official reportedly said Hamas has "no major issues" with a proposal from Israel and Gaza. Negotiators from Egypt and Qatar are meeting in Cairo today with Secretary of State Antony Blinken on his seventh visit to the region in recent months.

Meanwhile, President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at length by phone Sunday night. According to a readout of the call, the President and the Prime Minister discussed - among many things - increases in humanitarian assistance for the Gaza Strip.
