(New York, NY) -- A GoFundMe page for Donald Trump is raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to help the former president pay off legal fees in New York.

The fundraiser began after the Friday ruling made by Judge Arthur Engoron, which calls for Trump to pay a penalty of nearly $355 million dollars and stops Trump from operating a business in the state of New York for three years. In addition, Trump Jr. and Eric Trump need to pay a penalty of $4 million each.

"This is more than a legal fund; it's a call to all businesses owners and entrepreneurs to rally in defense of all businesses and for man who has never hesitated to stand in defense of us," wrote Elena Cardone, who created the fundraiser on GoFundme on Friday. "This fundraiser, therefore, is not merely about raising the 'ruling' amount. It's about making a stand."

As of this publication, more than $414,000 has been raised by donors.

With prejudgement interest, the total amount that needs to be paid to the state amounts to an estimated $450 million, which could increase every day until the total is paid off.

"Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological. They are accused only of inflating asset values to make more money. The documents prove this over and over again, "wrote Judge Engoron in the ruling against Trump on Friday." This is a venial sin, not a mortal sin. Defendants did not commit murder or arson. They did not rob a bank at gunpoint. Donald Trump is not Bernard Madoff. Yet, defendants are incapable of admitting the error of their ways. Instead, they adopt a “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” posture that the evidence belies."
