(Washington, D.C.) -- President Biden is vowing to respond following a weekend drone attack at a U.S. outpost in Jordan that claimed the lives of three American service members.

Biden held a moment of silence for the soldiers killed during an event in South Carolina Sunday, calling it a "tough day in the Middle East." The White House is blaming radical Iran-backed militant groups for the strike. The drone strike marks the first U.S. troops killed by enemy fire in the Middle East since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer has also mentioned conflict is possible, and blames the Biden administration in part because they don't take Iran seriously.
