(Washington, DC)  --  Americans want the House of Representatives to get back to work according to a new study.

A new USA Today-Suffolk University poll shows 67% percent of registered voters say the House should elect a new Speaker as soon as possible. The poll comes as the chamber has been without a Speaker for nearly three weeks following the ouster of Kevin McCarthy.  The House is unable to move any legislation until a Speaker is elected. This includes a $100 billion dollar foreign aid proposal from President Joe Biden, who is asking for funds to be delivered to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

The poll also found 36% of Americans have "a lot" or "some" confidence in elected leaders, while 62% have "very little" or no confidence at all.
