(New York, NY) -- A former FBI official who was a key investigator in the alleged Trump-Russia ties is expected to plead guilty to charges of illegally working for a Russian oligarch.
A court order shows Charles McGonical is currently in talks about the plea.
He was indicted earlier in the year on conspiracy and money laundering charges.
He is suspected of working for the oligarch in 2021, who was sanctioned for allegedly interfering with the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
McGonical is one of the highest-ranking former FBI officials who be charged with a crime.
