(Bowman, ND) -- A man from North Dakota has died in a helicopter crash in Alaska.

Justin Germann was a 27-year-old University of North Dakota graduate from Bowman, and he had moved to Alaska to work for the Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys. Late last week, a helicopter that Germann was flying in as part of a scientific mission crashed into a lake, killing him, two other passengers, and the pilot.

The crash is currently being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
