(Fargo, ND) -- Frozen fruits sold in North Dakota and across the U.S are being recalled by Sunrise Growers Inc., due to contamination concerns.
The frozen fruit recall is linked to pineapple provided by a third-party supplier that is possibly contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes. The organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in vulnerable populations like the young, frail, elderly or those with compromised and weakened immune systems. Infections can induce a long list of symptoms; including the miscarriages and stillbirth among pregnant women in some cases.
As of this publication, there are no illnesses associated with the recall.
