Burgum begins campaign with stops in Iowa

(Farley, IA) -- North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, a day after announcing his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the United States, made his first campaign stops in one of the early caucus states, Iowa.

Burgum, who launched his campaign Wednesday at an event in Fargo, stopped at CJ Beeps Equipment, where he focused on both federal environmental and economic regulations.

"These eastern Iowans definitely embrace the small town values which fuel the best of America," Burgum said in a social media post on Thursday. The small town values were one of his fundamental principles he focused on in Wednesday's launch.

After the first stop, he visited the Field of Dreams.

Burgum will wrap up his trip to Iowa today, before traveling to New Hampshire, where he will attend events both Saturday and Sunday.
