Federal agency providing support to rural broadcasters with technical assistance

(Bismarck, ND) -- The USDA is offering rural broadband technical assistance funding.

The Broadband Technical Assistance program supports organizations and groups that organize efforts to provide broadband services in rural areas. Federally recognized tribes, state and local government, colleges, and other agencies can apply for the grants. Rural areas, for the purposes of the grant, are defined as  “any area not located in a city, town, or incorporated area with a population greater than 20,000, or an urbanized area  next to a city, town or incorporated area with a population greater than 50,000 people.”
