(Tallahassee, FL) -- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is pushing for the end of what he calls Big Brother's Digital Dollar.

DeSantis Tuesday came out against efforts to establish a Central Bank Digital Currency, or CBDC.

He says the Biden administration's movement to establish a CBDC is about one thing, control. DeSantis says a CBDC would give the federal government the ability to surveil and control the finances of Americans.

He took to Twitter to say that it would also violate privacy, limit consumer choice and undermine market competitiveness.
