(Burbank, CA) -- It's case closed for "The People's Court."

"The Hollywood Reporter" says the longtime small-claims courtroom series with Judge Marilyn Milian will end its run after its current season.

The decision was made in part because of the challenging market in the daytime syndication landscape.

"The People's Court" is the longest-running traditional court show and second-longest-running courtroom program in general. The program has run a total of 39 seasons -- including the original series that aired between 1981 and 1993 with Judge Joseph Wapner. It also won four Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Legal-Courtroom Program.

The series is a Ralph Edwards-Stu Billett production and Warner Brothers Unscripted Television.  Edwards also created "Truth or Consequences" and "This Is Your Life" and was the man who discovered Bob Barker.
