(East Palestine, OH) -- Environmental activist Erin Brockovich is calling on the Biden administration to step up after a train derailment in Ohio resulted in a controlled release of dangerous chemicals.

The Norfolk Southern Railway train derailed February 3rd and authorities decided to burn off some of the chemicals instead of risking an explosion.

The burn resulted in a concerning release of toxic and carcinogenic chemicals into the atmosphere. Brockovich said Biden needs to get more involved in the derailment instead of turning a blind eye.

The EPA says the area is safe enough for residents to return, but hundreds of dead fish have been found in the region and there are reports of animals suffering.
