WH COVID response coordinator warns of flu, COVID surges

(Washington, DC)  --  The White House predicts a "significant" flu season this year on top of a potential increase in COVID infections.  Speaking to reporters, White House COVID Response Coordinator Ashish Jha urged Americans to get the updated booster that targets new strains circulating to ensure a safe holiday season.  He said the newest vaccines provide a higher level of protection against infection, hospitalization, and death. Dr. Jha noted that given what Australia's winter was like during the U.S.'s summer, Americans can expect an uptick in flu infections.
