(Milwaukee, WI) -- A top lawmaker in Wisconsin says former President Donald Trump called him last week and encouraged him to decertify President Biden's victory in the state 20 months ago.

State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said on Tuesday that Trump called him a few days after the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that absentee ballot drop boxes are illegal. Vos said he told Trump that overturing a two-year-old election is not allowed under Wisconsin's Constitution.

Vos said the July 10th court ruling on ballot drop boxes affects the law moving forward, and can't be applied retroactively.
