(Washington, DC) -- The Food and Drug Administration is temporarily suspending its ban on sales of Juul e-cigarettes.

The FDA tweeted on Tuesday that it's determined there are scientific issues unique to Juul "that warrant additional review." The agency announced a ban on sales of the popular e-cigarettes two weeks ago.

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said then that Juul has played a major role in the rise of vaping among young Americans.
