(Washington, DC) -- An FCC commissioner says the popular short video app TikTok is harvesting sensitive data that's then accessed in Beijing.
Commissioner Brendan Carr tweeted on Tuesday that "TikTok is not just another video app. That's the sheep's clothing." Carr has asked Apple and Google to pull TikTok for their app stores because of data security concerns related to China.
TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, which came under heavy scrutiny by the Trump administration.
