Study: Moviegoers most confident going to Theaters since pandemic

(Washington, DC) -- Moviegoers are feeling the most comfortable going to the theater since the start of the pandemic.

A new study conducted by NRG for the National Association of Theatre Owners shows 88-percent of film fans are "very or somewhat comfortable" catching a movie in a theater. That's up a percentage point from the previous week.

At the peak of the Omicron variant in January, only 65-percent said they were comfortable going to the movies. The increased comfort level is reflected in box office totals, as June has been the second-highest grossing month of the pandemic era with 648-million dollars in sales so far.
