(Washington, DC) -- Survivors and relatives of people who were killed in last month's mass shootings in New York and Texas will testify before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday morning.
One of the people who will testify is eleven-year-old Miah Cerillo, a fourth-grader who smeared herself with blood from a friend who was killed in the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. Nineteen children and two teachers were killed by an 18-year-old armed with an assault-style rifle.
The committee also will hear from the mother of a woman who was killed at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York ten days before the Texas school shooting. Ten people were killed at the store in a majority African American neighborhood.
The 18-year-old suspect, who is a self-described white supremacist, allegedly drove 200 miles to kill Black Americans.
