(Albany, NY) -- Amazon is being accused of discrimination in New York.

Governor Kathy Hochul says the Division of Human Rights has brought a complaint against the e-commerce giant. It specifically accuses the company of discrimination against disabled and pregnant workers.

One allegation involves a pregnant employee receiving permission to not lift packages of more than 25 pounds, but having to do so anyway after their manager refused to honor that. Unpaid leaves of absence for both sets of employees is one part of the complaint as well.

Civil fines and penalties are being sought by investigators.
