(Ukraine) -- A former U.S Marine veteran is dead after fighting alongside Ukrainian forces against Russia.
Willy Joseph Cancel's family confirmed the 22-year-old was killed Monday while fighting Russian forces. Cancel traveled to Ukraine on March 12th to fight in the war against Russia. He's believed to be the first American fighter killed in the conflict.
Cancel's body has not been recovered at this time. Cancel is survived by his wife and seven-month old child.
