(Washington, DC) -- The Speaker of the House has tested positive for COVID.

A spokesman for California Democrat Nancy Pelosi says she is "currently asymptomatic." Drew Hammill tweeted that Pelosi is fully vaccinated and boosted. He said the Speaker is "thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided."  Pelosi was at the White House twice this week for events with President Biden.

Pelosi is quarantining indefinitely. She has postponed a planned official trip to Asia next week during a House recess. The Speaker is 82 years old and is second in the line of presidential succession, after the vice president.

Earlier this week, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo announced positive tests for COVID.
