(San Francisco, CA) -- Uber customers are going to be paying more to cover higher gas prices.

Starting Wednesday, riders will be charged an extra 45 to 55-cents per trip, and an additional 35 to 45-cents for Uber Eats. The ride-share service said the surcharges will be in effect for at least the next two months.

All surcharges will go to drivers in Uber's attempt to "soften the burden" for their drivers.
