(Mesa, AZ) -- A union vote by a small number of Starbucks workers could be a very big deal in the growing campaign over unionization at the coffeehouse chain.

Votes by as many as 43 Starbucks employees in Mesa, Arizona, will be counted Wednesday afternoon. The Starbucks in the Phoenix suburb is the fourth in the U.S. to hold a union vote, after three in Buffalo, New York.

Votes at two of those locations are being challenged by the union and the company. Challenged ballots in Mesa could stop a clear winner from being announced Wednesday.
