(Menlo Park, CA) -- A seat on Facebook's Board of Directors is opening up.

Peter Thiel is leaving parent company Meta after nearly two decades. The PayPal co-founder was also an advisor for former President Trump. He reportedly plans to focus on conservative political causes.

Thiel's said to be backing several politicians in the November midterm elections who support Trump's agenda. He'll officially step down in May.
